BYU Basketball Experiencing a Historic 2011



BYU Schedule Produces Single-Loss Season (thus far)

This year is looking to be a historic year in BYU basketball.



The BYU schedule has put them at 18-1 so far this season and the Cougars are currently ranked #9 in the NCAA Men's Basketball Rankings.

ESPN's "bracketology" just ranked BYU as a number 2 seed -- that's indication of a potential Elite Eight showing.

The BYU Cougars have not ranked this high since the 1987-1988 season when the Cougars achieved a #2 ranking during a season ending with a 26-6 record. BYU basketball made it to the NCAA in 1988, but not into the Sweet Sixteen. If Jimmer Fredette and Jackson Emery can lead the BYU Cougars to the Elite Eight, it will be the first time since 1981

The BYU schedule has the cougars playing San Diego state (ranked #6) on Wed. Jan. 26, 2011 -- probably the Cougar's toughest game of the year.

Should be a big night at the Marriott Center for BYU basketball.
